My initial work revealed that facilitative yoked prisms could markedly reduce symptoms of learning disabilities, anxiety, and motion sickness.
The effects of yoked prism lenses on motion sickness were of particular interest to me at this point in my career, as they revealed how these lenses could affect the feedback cycles that influence visual and vestibular processing.
This means that while vestibular input can alter visual processing (as is the case of motion sickness, in which a disturbance of the vestibular system in the inner ear causes disturbances in visual perception), the reverse is also true: changes in the visual system can influence the vestibular system.
One amusing example of this involved a young learning-disabled man named Carl, who initially suffered from motion sickness to such a degree that he would vomit even during short car rides.
I provided Carl with yoked prisms, which relieved his headaches and stomach aches, and completely eliminated his motion sickness.
